The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Cadet Program mission is: To provide Civil Air Patrol with aerospace oriented programs and curricula that enhance the leadership and life skills of all cadet members and develops responsible citizens for the U.S. Air Force and the nation

New Jersey Wing Cadets find a structured program providing activities that develop leadership, aerospace knowledge, physical fitness, and moral direction. Advanced cadets are responsible for operating the program, and advancing less experienced cadets. Activities include flying in military and light aircraft, military drill and ceremonies, trips to Air Force and Aerospace Centers, military encampments and emergency services training and missions. Unlike other youth programs, once trained, Civil Air Patrol cadets participate in real lifesaving missions. Advanced cadets have the opportunity to learn to fly and travel overseas.

The Falcon Flight Academy is a premier cadet activity in New Jersey. It consists of intensive flight training in CAP aircraft at Lakehurst Naval Air Station. Many cadets go on from this activity to earn their pilots license.

Summer encampment (Cadet Boot-Camp) is a requirement for advancement into the Cadet Officer ranks and for attending GSAR (Ground Search & Rescue) Schools and National Activities. Encampment is normaly held during August, on McGuire AFB and Fort Dix, New Jersey.
